Tidewater Community College each year marks the anniversary of the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., by presenting an award to a member of the TCC family who best exemplifies the teachings and example of Dr. King by advocating a nonviolent approach to solving society’s problems; fostering positive race relations in our community; striving to remove the social, political, and economic barriers of inequality; and possessing a realistic optimism, based on faith, of a better future for all Americans.

ANY individual employed by TCC is eligible to be nominated, and any TCC faculty or staff member may submit a nomination.
